    Description

These nicely sized 16" diameter 1950s-era fixtures are in fantastic condition, with an elegant "shallow bowl"  shape not easily found in vintage industrial "barn" or "gas station" lights. The steel shades have their original white porcelain coating that is thick, pure white and glossy, with a black porcelain rim. You might find a few tiny, hard-to-see chips along the rim or at the top of the neck, but the shades look much as they do when they rolled off Benjamin's U.S. production line 60+ years ago -- the miracle of a genuine porcelain finish versus the painted finish found on today's fixtures. This listing begins with 5 available fixtures sold individually. You save on combined shipping when purchasing more than one.
Each fixture has a substantial heavy-duty Benjamin socket that puts today's imported sockets to shame. The socket accepts any typical household, "medium-base" bulb -- we especially like how this type of fixture looks with one of the "Edison" vintage-style bulbs easily found online or in big-box hardware stores. In the photos we show the fixture with both an extra-large Edison type bulb as well as a more typically sized one -- outfit the fixture with the bulb that suits your tastes! Each fixture is ready-to-hang, with only simple minor assembly required on your end. As outfitted with a 6" down pipe, the bottom rim of the fixture hangs about 16" down from the ceiling. If you want it to hang closer or further from the ceiling, simply choose a shorter or longer iron pipe (1/2" size) from any hardware store.
We've included 3' of new wiring to give you plenty of flexibility if choosing a longer pipe. The 4"-dia. swiveling ceiling hanger provides some "give" should the fixture be accidentally bumped, and also ensures the fixture hangs plumb -- even if your ceiling electrical box is not exactly level. We removed the fixtures' original asbestos gaskets and replaced them with safe, high-temp, factory-cut, new gaskets.
Quoted shipping is to the lower 48 states. Like all of our vintage light fixtures, these beauties were completely disassembled and refurbished to ensure they work safely and perfectly for another 60+ years!

Buy with confidence knowing that all of our vintage industrial light fixtures are:
    *Refurbished to the highest standards.
We carefully disassemble each fixture down to the smallest screw, then refurbish each part. For example, all electrical contact surfaces are cleaned and restored, threaded surfaces are "chased" with taps and dies, and lubricants applied sparingly where needed. We keep the fixtures fully original, only replacing parts when corrosion or safety concerns dictate a new part, such as a new stainless steel screw in place of an old rusted one, or a new safe gasket in place of an old asbestos one.
*Restored and preserved to retain their natural and intrinsic vintage look.
We don't "wring the romance" from fixtures by excessively removing all traces of patina. Instead, metal surfaces are cleaned lightly but completely while preserving the natural patina gained over decades. The parts are then treated to retain the patina and prevent future corrosion.
*Tested and guaranteed to work perfectly.
Before any fixture leaves our workshop it is tested to ensure it works properly. Please check our flawless feedback.
*Packaged extremely well for safe arrival and shipped within 24 hours.
We've shipped vintage light fixtures all over the world with no damage incidents. That's because we use plenty of quality packing materials, and know through years of experience how to pack. Our packing practices meet or exceed the standards established by FedEx, UPS, and USPS.
