Suri Natural White 8 oz Alpaca Fiber for Carding and Spinning Luxury Soft

Description

8 oz of white and light tan unprocessed first cut suri alpaca fiber. Luxuriously soft, ready to card and spin at approximately 5 inches in length. This fiber was sheered from our lady "Sugar" in spring of 2015 as part of the prime first or prime blanket. Colors will vary due to difference on the animal. All fiber is raw and will contain some vegetable matter.

Benefits of alpaca fiber:
All alpaca wool fibers are extremely soft as a result of the small diameter of each fiber strand, and alpaca fiber is five times warmer and stronger than sheep’s wool due to the air pockets in the fiber, which allows it to trap and contain more heat. Alpaca fiber is considered extremely luxurious from it’s soft and durable nature, making it a fixture for winter wear clothing.
Alpaca fiber has no lanolin, which is a natural wax secreted by some wool-producing animals that people can be allergic to, and therefore, it is naturally hypoallergenic.
Alpaca fiber has a soft, silky feel, and while it is warm like sheep wool, it does not have the same potentially itchy nature. This is because the alpaca’s fiber is naturally softer to the touch because it is several microns smaller in diameter, similar to merino wool, giving it its characteristic softness.
Alpaca fiber is naturally water resistant because it has an incredibly low water retention rate.
Alpaca fiber is extremely warm, but it also maintains a lightweight nature, as the airyness of the fiber allows the wool to trap and retain heat without becoming too heavy.
Most items ship within one business day of cleared payment.
Items can only be shipped to the lower 48 United States. Packages cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes,  APO/FPO, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, or Alaska.
We do not ship outside of the United States, or to freight forwarding companies.
Bidding on or attempting to purchase our items if you live in any of these locations or meet these restrictions will result in your payment being refunded and the transaction canceled.
Returns/Refunds Policy:
A 10% restocking fee is applied if the product and original box are returned in good condition, with all tags intact.
A 50% restocking fee is applied if the product or the original box is returned in used or damaged condition.
Restocking fees are applied at the time of refund.
Combined shipping is not guaranteed even if multiple items are paid with the same payment.
Local pick-up is available.
All packages that are returned to us as undeliverable are subject to an additional shipping charge to re-ship the item. If we attempt to contact a buyer and do not receive a response within 3 days of receiving the item, the transaction will be subject to cancellation and a restocking fee.
Please make sure the ship to address is correct at the time of payment. We are not responsible for packages that are shipped to the incorrect address due to buyer error.
