STARTING IN THE 1920'S THE MOTION PICTURE WEEKLY TITLED: PICTURE SHOW WAS PUBLISHED IN THE UK AND FEATURED MOSTLY US AND BRITISH FILMS. PART OF THE ISSUES INCLUDED A SECTION TITLED THE PICTURE SHOW ART SUPPLEMENT WHICH INCLUDED MOVIE SCENE PHOTOS FROM TWO,THREE OR MORE MOVIES IN EITHER BLUE, BROWN OR GREEN SEPIA.THIS IS A FOUR PAGE SUPPLEMENT DATED JULY 11, 1931 AND IT INCLUDES WITHIN IS A FULL PAGE PHOTO WITH BARBARA STANWYCK REFERENCING HER MOVIE ROLE IN: THE LOCKED DOOR, LADIES OF LEISURE, THE GIRL FROM MEXICO AND ILLICIT. THIS ISSUE ALSO INCLUDES A PHOTO OF NEIL HAMILTON AND A SYNOPSIS OF THE MOVIE PASSION FLOWER WITH KAY FRANCIS, KAY JOHNSON AND CHARLES BICKFORD. DURING THE 1930S AND FOR QUITE A WHILE AFTER, US PRODUCED MOVIES OFTEN TOOK MANY MONTHS TO PREMIER IN THE UK. THUS EXPLAINING THE SLIGHTLY LATER DATES OF THESE "PRE-CODE" ISSUES COMPARED TO THE EARLIER US RELEASE DATES.
