I am excited to bring you this rare sterling silver wedding basket made by Reed and Barton in the late 19 century, the marks indicates 1890. It is in excellent condition, probably needs a good polishing, and stands approximately just a little under 17  inches tall. The handle is stationary. If your daughter is getting married this would be the ultimate wonderful piece to enhance her wedding experience. What a great gift this would make. This basket was primarily used for two things. One was to put rose petals which were thrown on the ground as the bride walked to the aisle. The other was to put her boutique at her table before the throwing ceremony. Of course you can always put flowers in it. This does hold a little bit of water. This was always a special order from the company. That is why there are rare and not many have survived, and it is hard to find one in such excellent condition. The open work on this basket was all hand cut out. It is clearly marked on the bottom. Please look at my photographs. This sterling silver wedding basket by Reed @  Barton weighs approximately 22 ounces. It is 5 3/4 inches wide and almost 10 inches long the basket itself. It is monogrammed on one side as you can see by my photographs, but the silver is thick enough that if you wanted it removed you could do so. Payment
