MOVED BY BIKES LONGBOARD BIKE RACKCruise to the waves with your board on your bike!
Moved By Bikes Surfboard Racks
are designed to be the best racks you can buy! Because they mount right to your frame, they are super stable, even with longboards. The rear mount goes on your seatpost OR your rear rack, your choice, no special rack is required. The grooved bars slide into the mounted tubes and are held in place with a simple push button release. Slide them in till the button clicks, push the button to remove them, that’s all there is to it. No need to have the bars on your bike when you aren’t actually using them. Simple and effective!
FEATURES
QUICK RELEASE BARS
Quickly and easily remove the rack tubes from the bike with no tools! Just push a button and pull them out. The rack tubes will not be in your way when you aren’t going surfing.
VERY STABLE EVEN WITH LONGBOARDS
By mounting directly to your frame, the rack is very stable when riding. No other rack on the market can match the stability of the Moved By Bikes surfboard rack.
HIGHLY ADAPTABLE
Attaches to virtually any bike and carries virtually any board.
BUILT TO LAST
This rack is made of high quality materials: anodized aluminum with stainless steel hardware. Foam padding on the tubes prevents damage to your board. This rack is built to last in coastal areas!
TRY IT WITH YOUR DOG
Check out the Moved by Bikes Dog Runner, it’s the front half of this rack!
Front Head Tube Mounting
Every bike has a head tube, and it’s one of the strongest places on the frame. So the MBB tubes are mounted there. Hardware is included to fit a wide range of head tube sizes and frame configurations. The clamp is based on single U bolt with two nuts that tighten the assembly down and lock everything in place. Rubber covers protect your frame from the metal components of the rack.
If your bike has a raised head badge it is recommend to remove it to provide a smooth clamping surface up front. If you have a brake line down the front of your head tube (older style cantilever brakes) you may need to upgrade that brake to the newer style V-brake or a disk brake.
Rear Rack Mounting
The rear surfboard rack is designed to mount either to the rear seat post or to your favorite rear bike rack (just about any rear rack will work fine). If you have a big long board, the rear rack is a nice option. The Seat Post mounting option includes a set screw that allows the clamp to be locked in to prevent the rack from twisting, particularly nice on chrome plated steel cruiser seat posts that are hard to clamp to.
Installation Instructions
The Moved By Bikes Rack is designed to fit the vast majority of bikes out there, but because of the nature of the clamping on the head tube, you should use care in attaching to very lightweight racing bikes and we don’t recommend installing on anything carbon fiber.
Tools needed for installation
: 10mm wrench and a standard Allen key set (with 3 and 5mm keys) are all you need to install the rack. A little grease or anti-seize on the bolt threads is recommended, and on certain frames, you may want to trim your U-bolts with a saw after installing. Zip ties may be helpful for cable management to ensure clear rotation of the handlebars on bikes with shift/brake lines.
