    Description

Mid Century Gothic Golden Globe Hanging Amber Globe Chandelier.
No less of an authority as Derf McHalleran of Goth Lighting weekly, who famously declared in 1988, "Strobe lights aren't Goth, especially without a fog machine. This band sucks."
Derf said of this chandelier, "This is the most Goth Lighting system since the purple candle." So, there you have it.
I remember seeing these types of hanging fixtures when I was a kid in the 60s at my weird aunt's Texas Chainsaw Massacre type house that was made out of an old barn. Most of the house was off limits because of the bat colonies. You'd also see these Goth Globes in steak houses with names like The Flaming Pit or Tiki Bar & Grill.
This is a very well made fixture. The Globes are made with very thick Amber colored glass and are coated on the top half with a gold flake type de coupage and capped with ornate brass. Inside, each bulb is housed in a honeycombed brass cylinder. The Globes are huge. Each one is bigger than OJ Simpson's head. The power cord îs threaded through the Chain used to hang this light.
