I just received the Frigidaire bread machine today and put it right to work. I was skeptical about getting this over the Cuisinart but glad I bought this. I used my digital scale to measure the ingredients as suggested in the manual and used the provided big/small spoons to measure sugar, salt, and yeast. I replaced butter with olive oil and addded some green onions. I used the soft option (1) and made a small loaf. It turned out just as good as gourmet loaf of bread if not better. Make sure you use high quality flour and fresh ingredients. The only thing I noticed during baking was the LED light on the buttons kept flashing continuously. I'm not sure if they're supposed to do that but the cycle completed properly and the bread baked perfectly. I'm ready for the next batch this time using the delayed function.

My 13 year old is into bread making and this was agift for her. She has made 2 different loafs so far and they are unbelievably good. Not sure about the complaint on Big Spoon by another reviewer. They have provide both big and small spoon for measurement. Recipe booklet is good and she has followed it with some substitutions like using regular milk instead of milk powder and rapid yeast instead of powder yeast and the results have been fabulous. We have yet to try online recipe but for sure we wont be going back to store bought bread anytime soon.

I wish I could add pictures of of my first and second attempt. I followed the recipe from the booklet and the texture was even, chewy and tasty. I got all the ingredients from my local food lion. I definitely can keep up with my family needs. Next to just use it to make dough for pizza. I was impressed just with the quickness of the dough making ability.

I've had this for about two weeks now, and I've made bread every single day (I have a family of six). I set it up at night before going to bed and program it so that I have fresh, warm bread first thing in the morning. You do need to read the directions carefully as they appear to be written by someone who is not a native English speaker. However, the step-by-step directions come with photos and are quite manageable to follow. As for the "big spoon, little spoon" complaint in another review, the spoons are provided and are simply "teaspoon" and "tablespoon" measurements. As for the metric measurements, I just googled the conversions and wrote them in my recipe book that comes with it. This is a simple breadmaker that does not come with directions for "mix-ins" that you'd find with a fancier Williams & Sonoma breadmaker. You can either pay a lot more and get one of those, or you can just pause it at the appropriate stage (there's a pause button), take the bread out, mix in what you want (I sometimes do cinnamon/sugar), put it back in and continue. It comes out great! I've used special bread flour as well as regular all-purpose flour... no difference! I've used regular yeast as well as premium yeast... no difference! This is a great little machine that stayed right where I put it on my counter (previous reviewer had an issue with it moving and falling off the counter - maybe flour spilled a bit and made it slipperly?). After my third loaf, I no longer even needed to consult my directions. PROS: easy to use, inexpensive, looks nice, makes great bread. CONS: We are going through butter and jam like crazy!
