    Description

    Plum Crazy Fiber Art offers
Luxury Fiber Sampler Package - 14 fibers.  Samples are 1 gram unless otherwise marked.  (Guanaco & Qiviut are 1/2 gram, and Vicuna is a small tuft)  You will notice how much volume difference there is between the various fibers.  Individually packaged and labeled.

Alpaca ~ Royal Combed top  ~ 18 microns softer than baby alpaca

Alpaca ~ Baby Suri combed top ~ 22 microns longer fiber with nice luster and no crimp

Angora Rabbit ~ French Angora from my bunnies in two colors 12 to 14 microns

Buffalo – American Bison ~ washed only and most guard hair removed ~ undercoat is about 15 microns

Camel ~ Baby combed top from Bactrian camel ~ 16 to 18 microns in two colors

Cashmere ~ Combed top from cashmere goats ~ 15 to 16 microns in three colors

Guanaco ~ noil form ~ relative of llama, alpaca and vicuña (unable to get better quality at this time) 1/2 gram

Merino ~ combed top ~ 14.5 microns of gorgeous wool fiber

Mink ~ combed top ~ shorn and dehaired making it renewable 15 microns

Qiviut ~ Musk Ox in sliver form ~ super warm fiber 12 to 14 microns  (1/2 gram)

Raccoon ~ Shorn fiber ~ shorter length with some guard hair left but very soft

Silk ~ 3 types:  Red Eri – natural color philosamia ricini silk worm eats Castor Leaves 13-17 microns
Muga ~ wild silk from Assam silk moth from India ~ eats Som & Sula leaves
Peduncle ~ from the stem of a wild tropical Tussah silkworm cocoon ~ natural color

Vicuña ~ combed top ~ fiber from Peru from a once endangered relative of the llama, alpaca and guanaco
This 10 to 12 micron fiber is difficult to come by and requires a special permit it is very expensive
So there is just about a 10th of a gram of top

Yak ~ combed top ~ two colors ~  17-19 microns ~ member of the bovine family comes in several colors
