Pin the cut-out to the frame. You’ll
    see how Isolastic construction isolates
    engine vibration.
Engine, gearbox and rear wheel are
    one unit. Rubber-mounted into the
    frame.
    Which gives the vertical twin
Commando a uniquely smooth ride. Even
    when compared with multi-cylinder
    machines.
But you get none of the problems of
    three or four cylinders.
You get an extremely reliable Norton
    engine. (Norton's have won a record 37
    Isle of Man T.T’s).
You get high performance. 0-60 in
4.8. Standing quarters in 12.8. Top speed
    way past 120 m.p.h.
And you get simple maintenance. Be-
cause two cylinders are naturally easier
    to service and tune.
    Which means ’Isolastic’ construction
does more than isolate engine vibration.
    It also cuts mechanical costs.
